Character development process for the tutorial NPC, Robert B. Busted for an unannounced project (BKB)
Character design process of Robert. He was designed to function as a tutorial fighter, so needed to be padded and "easily fixable" under a large amount of damage.
Early designs of Robert. Playing with the idea of a pipe-based mohawk and ballistic gel style stomach and throat to "show damage when practicing". Ultimately, we made him bulkier to seem a bit more imposing and balanced visually.
Colour tests of a neutral, jab, and recovery beta pose. Risograph style (Cyan + Red + Yellow + Black) in 4 separate overlays.
Test mockups in the tutorial gym against the player. Early UI designs can be seen as well.
